ACT NO, 7257 BILL NO. 29-0038 TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2011 An Act authorizing the finding for the Broadband Expansion Project under the United States Department of Commerce’s Broadband Technology Opportunity Program, providing for the issuance of tax-exempt or taxable bond anticipation notes, bonds or other evidence of indebtedness of the Government of the Virgin Islands, the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority, and viNGN in an aggregate principal amount of up to $38,000,000; amending 30 V.LC., chapter 5, section 105 relating to the powers of the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority; mandating that PFA provide priority to the local businesses, as may be practicable to stimulate the local economy and afford the infusion of capital to residents of the Virgin Islands and resident businesses that pay taxes; to promote competition when procuring contracts and transactions; providing that free WIFI be made available in all Public Communication Centers in the Virgin Islands; mandating that the PFA submit a report to the Legislature on the Broad …
