OVERRIDDEN ACT NO.6480 ooo man Sec. 5, (2)(£) (a), (b) & (g) BILL NO. 24-0141 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To provide for a moratorium on the issuance of taxi medallions, taxi operator’s badges and identification cards and for other purposes .--Q--- BE 1T ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of title 20, chapter 37, Virgin Islands Code, there is hereby established a moratorium on the issuance of taxi medallions, operator’s badges and identification cards for automobiles-for-hire in the Virgin Islands. However, the moratorium established under the provisions of this subsection shall not extend to the issuance of medallions, badges and cards to the Virgin Islands United States military veterans who were domiciled and their offspring who are domiciled in the Virgin Islands for at least five years prior to entering United States Military service. …
