ACT NO. 7168 BILL NO. 28-0199 TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2010 An Act amending 19 V.LC., chapter 62 as it relates to noise pollution control se Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION.1 Title 19 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 62, is amended in the following instances: (a) In §2041, insert two new appropriately numbered subsections that read: “( ) “Noise sensitive zone” means existing quiet zones, if any, and those areas containing noise sensitive activities including, but not limited to, operations of schools, libraries open to the public, houses of worship, hospitals, and nursing homes. ( ) “Weighted average dBA” means the 24-hour energy average of the sound pressure level in decibels (dB), as measured on a sound level meter using the A-weighted network; any readings taken during the period between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. …
