Published on St. Croix Source (http://stcroixsource.com) BY SOURCE STAFF — NOVEMBER 10, 2015 EDC to Host Open House for Eligible Suppliers and Businesses The Economic Development Commission (EDC) will host an open house for certified eligible suppliers under the EDC Program. Current eligible suppliers and Virgin Islands businesses that are interested in becoming certified providers of goods and services to companies receiving EDC tax exemptions in the U.S. Virgin Islands are encouraged to attend. The general public is also welcome to learn more about the Virgin Islands Economic Development (VIEDA) programs and services. This open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on these dates and at these locations: St. Thomas: Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the V.I. Small Business Development Center, 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, 2nd floor, Suite 720, St. Thomas St. Croix: Thursday, Nov. 19, at the V.I. Small Business Development Center, 4100 Sion Farm Shopping Center, Christiansted, St. Croix At 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., VIEDA representatives from the Economic Development Commission, Enterprise Zone Commission, Economic Development Bank and the V.I. Industrial Park Corporation will deliver presentations and provide information on their respective programs and offerings. The purpose of the open house is to inform local businesses about how they can provide products and services to beneficiaries of the EDC program and the EDC procurement procedures. VIEDA representatives will also be able to interact with existing eligible suppliers to learn how to improve the program. This event is also an opportunity for existing eligible suppliers and other attendees to receive information on EDC tax benefits and incentives for small to large businesses, VIEDA loan programs for small to medium-size businesses, Enterprise Zone tax credits to rehabilitate buildings, and the amenities and services of the industrial parks on St. Thomas and St. Croix. Existing eligible suppliers are encouraged to update their records on-site during the open house to maintain certification. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, meet one-on- one with VIEDA representatives and network with other businesses.
