SS SG SESS I ST I EES ACT NO, 719 BILL NO. 28-0174 TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2010 An Act establishing nutrition standards for foods sold outside of the federal meal program, and making nutrition standards consistent across the Virgin Islands ie Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. (a) Except as provided in subsection (f) (2) of this section, all food and beverage items sold in a public kindergarten through grade 12 school must at a minimum meet the standards required by this section. (b) The following apply to all food sold in a school during the times described in subsection (f)( i) of this section: A snack item may be sold only in a single-serving size and: qd) May not have more than 7 grams of fat. This requirement does not apply to snack items that are legumes, nuts, nut butters, seeds, eggs, fish, corn, nonfried vegetables and cheese. …
