TELEGRAMS. ST. CROIX STATION. Croyden, England May 24th. Major Blake and his companions started from the aerodrome here at 3 05 p. m. on their attempted 39,000 mile aeroplana flight around the world. The Croydon aero- dromz, which is London’s ter ninal for journey by air to Paris and other contin- ental points, was packed this morning with sight-seers, eager to witness the de- parture of tie aviators. Major Blake’s collaborators in tae dangerous venture, are Captain Macmillan e Broome. The purpose of tne wisue Was said by the aviators to demonstrate what civil aviation is able to accomplish. Bril liant sunshine, with a light breeze, made the weather conditions perfect for the t ke off. An officiai tone was given tc the event by the presence of Major General Sir W. M. Brancker, divector of' civil avi- ation. The machine the aviators are using is a DH-9, capable of 115 miles per hour. sit has the very latest equipment foi com- fort and special attention has been paia to the petrol systems. A thorough test was given the machine yesterday and it was taken out again this morning by pilot Maemillan for the final ‘spin, prior to the great flight. . : Paris May 26th. Major Blake and his companions, this morning again post- poned their departure from the flying field at Le Bourget, on the second leg of their attempted tlight around the world. They hoped, however, to be abie to get away for Lyons this afternoon : Genoa, May 25th.
