Any person born in the South Jutland- ish districts and possessed of German citizenship, shall acquire Danish citizen- ship, if, within June the 15th 1922 he makes a declaration of optior, provided oniy that, if he does not even then reside here, he shall in the course of the next 12 months after having made the decla- ration, take up his residence in Denmark. As toopting persons not residing in Ger- mnany, dispensation with the requirement of settlement in Denmark may, however, be obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs unless the person in question is possessed of citizenship also in the coun- try, where he is residing.
