POLICE{DEPARTMENT, Municipality of St. Croix, V. 1., U. S. October 29, 1921, Police Nots olice Notice. HE following excerp from paragraph 87, Police Regutations for St. Cioix, is hereby brought to public notice for the information of all concerned: **The police are entitled to take up dogs found without a dog stamp, and if mo one redeems them within three times 24 hours, the Police can order them to be killed. The same applies to dogs roaming about the streets from 10.00 p. m=to 6.00 a. m., and also to bitches in rutting time.’’ Beginning Monday, November 7, 1921, the above regulation in regards to dogs will be rigidly enforced and all dogs found unlawfully on the streets will be taken over by the Police. Dog stamps can be procured at any time from the Police Headquarters. ‘ C. ESPERSEN, Acting Directer ofPolice. OF THE FOR ST. CROIX. 3rd Member for Frederiksted Country Distriet (M. M. Skeoch) remarked: Mr, Chairman. It isa pity that the other applications pending were not given con- sideration and an amount included in this Money Bill for the installation of the phones applied for. The Acting Chairman (Blackwood) re- marked: Idon’t know that this is a fault we can lay on any one; if the ap- plicants had followed the matter up they certainly would find out the cause why their phones were not installed. 3rd Member for Frederiksted Country District (M. M. Skeoch) would like to know why the amount on the Money Bill now before the House cannot be il- - ; 3rd Member for Christiansted Town (Alexander) remarked: Mr. Chairman. The point raised by the Honorable 2nd Member for Christiansted Town is quite in ovder. If the Honorable Government Secretary would bring in an amendment inereasing the amount, that would settle the whole.question. 2nd Member for Ch"istians&d Town §Canegata) remarked: Mr. airman. : gree with the Honorable 3rd Member for Christiansted Town on one poiat, but not on the other. It is not left to the Government Secretary to bring in an amendment. Both | clubs scored one goal. It was remarked i that too many non-players infruded around the goalkeepers who ought to have a clear field in which to operate. See programme of the Christiansted Theatre in this issue and decide whether this is not an attractive film worth while seeing this evening. It is highly re- commended. Correspondence To the Editor of **St. Croix Avis.” Dear Sir—lt appears to us that the bandstand has been converted into a public play-ground for children. Now, nobody objects to anyone going in there and sitting on the benches in an orderly manner, when the stand is not being used for the purpose it was built for, or in the event of rain, but we object to this; Some of tbe children are seen climbin on the rails, and walking on the benches, which last is certainly very annoying to the musicians, who somplain that several times dirt has been found on the top of the benches, left tncre by the Children’s Shoes. They also pull the benches about., which gives unnecessary work to the bandmen 1n having to put the benches back in their places for con- cert purpose. If the bandstand is to be treated in this way, the beauty of this excellent piece of native workmanship will soon be spoiled. This matter should be looked into, as the bandstand was built for the accommodation of the bands, so that we could have better music ete. We politely call the attention of those in charge of the children to this fact, and hope that it won’t be necessary to write on this sub- ject again. Respectfuly, ; MUSICIANS. The Editor *‘St. Croix Avis.”’ Dear Mr. Editor,— We hear that the Century Brass Band of rrederiksted is expected to take part in the Liberty Day Pacade of the Labor Union. We are glad to learn this, and take th's opportunity of asking Bandmaster Williams to give the Chris- tiansted public a concert on the Wharf in the bandstand Tuesday evening. We will appre®iate this, moreso as we have never had the pleasure of hearing these gentlemen before. Hoping that we will have the pleasure of listening to this Band of Natives from the other town.
