August 13 U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS— In response to the impending arrival of Tropical Storm Ernesto, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has authorized the early dismissal of all non-essential government employees across the U.S. Virgin Islands. This precautionary measure, effective at 12:00 PM today, is to ensure the safety of our workforce and allow ample time for personal preparations ahead of the storm. Non-essential employees are advised to secure their homes and take necessary precautions as weather conditions are expected to deteriorate by late afternoon. Essential employees, including emergency response and public safety personnel, will remain on duty and are prepared to respond throughout the storm. “The safety of our community and government employees is our utmost priority as we brace for Tropical Storm Ernesto,” said Governor Bryan. “We urge all residents to take this storm seriously, adhere to all safety advisories, and stay informed through official channels.” Residents are encouraged to monitor the storm’s progress and heed all warnings from the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) and other official sources. The Governor thanks the public and government employees for their cooperation and urges everyone to prioritize safety during this time.
