[La Motta, Captain of the Christiansted Athletic Association, denying the remark that I personally A Lover of Football made in said paper saying Athletic Defeated, he says that it is not so because six of his best players were unable to play the af- ternoon of Jan Ist. and he 1s quite sure that the eleven members are capable of handling the Dreadrought, weli perhaps that wil! be right, but wh:n? I weualdlike to see it soon. Now Hon. Captain when you knew the six members were not going to play and the game was cbout to start and you had to get some outside men, why vou did’nt decide with the Hon. Captain of the oth- er Club to call it a Picked Eleven. in- stead of letting it go under the same name Athletic so that is your cwn fault and the public know that. Another thing mentioned that even few of the membersof the Dreadnought have been honest and sensible enough to say that the game was not & tair one, that is false, because when I wsked all the boys oi the Dreadnought Club they were surprised to know that you said such a thing. But go ahead and when you carry your full force to meet the Dreadnought again and your Club be de- feated, don’t deny it. Again you mentioned that you would like to impress upon my mind that whenever your boys go to play against any other Club they go t- play for pleasure, not to make a boast of it, if so being the case you all does it, because while waiking some time ago [ heard a great many of your boys with their boastful talk, so take %hings in consideration and all will work air. No need to practice alone, without playing any matches because 1 like the football game and lam anxious to s e your Club and the "readnought on the 17th Day of January w:ith your great force playing against each other. Now Hon. Capt., don't be vex with me as I went down on the ground to see the match and as I am a lover of foocball and it interests me, I only wrote tlgat to show the pube?c that the Dreadaought won and the Athletic was defeated.
