RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To approve the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology. WHEREAS, the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology supports needed workforce development in the Territory, and provides UVI students with further opportunities for professional careers after graduation; and WHEREAS, the Associates of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology is consistent with the spirit and goals of the University’s strategic plan, Greatness through Innovation; and WHEREAS, on March 19, 2021, the Interim Agriculture Curriculum Committee in the School of Agriculture and the faculty in the Agricultural Experimental Station and the Cooperative Extension Services approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and WHEREAS, on March 28, 2021, the voting faculty in the School of Agriculture approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and WHEREAS, on April 15, 2021, the Curriculum Committee of the University approved the Associate of Applied Sci …

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To approve the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology. WHEREAS, the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology supports needed workforce development in the Territory, and provides UVI students with further opportunities for professional careers after graduation; and WHEREAS, the Associates of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology is consistent with the spirit and goals of the University’s strategic plan, Greatness through Innovation; and WHEREAS, on March 19, 2021, the Interim Agriculture Curriculum Committee in the School of Agriculture and the faculty in the Agricultural Experimental Station and the Cooperative Extension Services approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and WHEREAS, on March 28, 2021, the voting faculty in the School of Agriculture approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and WHEREAS, on April 15, 2021, the Curriculum Committee of the University approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and WHEREAS, on April 22, 2021, the faculty of the University approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and WHEREAS, on May 18, 2021, the Academic Research and Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees approved the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT: 1. The establishment of an Associate of Applied Science degree program in Agroecology is hereby approved. 2. The President is authorized to take such action as is necessary to implement this resolution. 3. This resolution shall become effective June 19, 2021. CERTIFICATION The undersigned hereby certifies that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands and adopted at its meeting on Saturday, June 19, 2021, as recorded in the minutes of the said meeting.
