THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner AAF Justice Complex, 5400 Veterans Drive St. Thomas, 00802 * (340) 774-2211 Administrative Services Building 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted St. Croix, 00840 * (340) 778-2211 www.vipd.vi.gov VIPD RELEASE- 101922-286 For Immediate Media Distribution October 19, 2022 Unresponsive Cruise Ship Passenger Pulled from Water at Trunk Bay St. John, USVI-On Wednesday October 19, 2022, 911 Emergency Call Center reported a male being pulled from the water at Trunk Bay, St. John, by Members/Passengers from Royal Caribbean's Cruise Ship (Symphony of the Sea); and started to administer CPR. An EMS team from the Myrah Keating Smith Health Center responded and were unable to retrieve a pulse on the victim. 72- year-old Alfred Fahlstedt, was pronounced dead on the scene. ###
