Lieutenant John Harper, Medical gorps, U. S. Navy, who arrived via the . S. Guiana a short time ago, hkas been appointed Municipal Physician for St. Thomas. Lieutenant Commander Ellis S. Stone, U. S. Navy, has been ordered to duty as Chief of Staff of the Governor of the Virgin Islands and will relieve Com- mander Walter B. Decker, U.S. Navy, Commander Stone will arrive on the U. S. S. Henderson about the middle of next month. Ata meetingof the Colonial Council on Thursday, Mr. H2nry O. Creque was elected Member of St. Thomas Harbor Roard vice Mr. A. Burnet. Mr. Carl A. Anduz: was elected Member of the Poor Commission vice Mr. A Burnet. Lieutenant Robert J. Monteith, Supply Corps, U. S. Navy, the Deputy Collector of Internal kevenue, has been on income tax duty in St. Croix since Monday. Lieutenant Monteith is expected to re- turn via the S. S. Guiaca tomorrow. The U. S. S. Grebe is expected to re- turn from San Juin today. TELEGRA MS. ST. CROIX STATION. London, April 18:h.—The House of Rishops, with three dissenters, yesterday approved of the proposed revision of the Anglican prayer book and uppnimously approved of the proposed revision of the psalter. The Archbishop of York said that after the revision is compieted every uasauthorized form must be made to cease. Tradition, order ani authority within the Church must be restored and this might involve recourse to ,the eccle- siastical courts. The present position, under whieh the courts have largely c-:ased to funcuon, is inolerabl>, said the Archbishop. London, April 18:h —A Cairo despatch to the Daily Mail says that in conse- quence of King {fuad's insistence on the inclusion in the drat'ts of the constitution of elauses making him virtually absolute Monareh, the relations between him and his Cabinet are rapidly approaching a crisis. Dayton, Ohio, April 18 h.—Lieutenants Mec Cready and Kelly landed their mono- plane last night after creating a new world’s record for sustained flving. They were .6 hours 5 minutes and 20 seconds in the air. In addition, 9 other records were made. The highest world’s alti- tude record for a single motered ship was attained by Lieut. Ruteledge Irvine, who rose to 11,300 feet, Paris, April 18th.—An airplane, con- trolled by wireless and automatically stabilized, made ¢ =successful test flight vesterday at Etar °s, in the presence of the Under Secrc ry for Aeronautics. The plane has been aaking intermittent flights for the past year. Its stabiliza- tion is now said to be entirely automatic and the solution of the few remaining problems in connection with Its opera- tions are in sight. Although the wire- less control is desceribed as perfeet, flights for the present will be made with a p:lot, who will bea employed chiefly as an observer, ihat the inveniion may be developed as far as gopssible.
