My amend- ment is merely to take care of the other items under new construction for the benefit of the island and its inhabitants, 2nd Member for Christiansted Country Distriet (Berg): Mr. Chairman. The Chairman cal'ed an extraordinary meeting of the Council tor Monday 30th. inst., at one o’clock p. m. There being no fu. ther business before the House the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 6.°0 p. m. LOCAL The Christiansted Pheatre was simply packed last night at the joint movie and Japanese acrobatic entertainment. The feats in the trapeze and rings, of the contortionist and the display of strangth and skill were wonderful so see. The Post Office Department advises that postmasters will shortly receive from Major General Rodert G Davis, the Adjutant General of the Army, a num- ber of application blanks, instruciions, and return addressed envelopes to be distributed in their several communities to veterans and their dependents desir- ing to make application for benefits un- der the World War Adjusted Compensa- tion Act. One set, consisting ¢t an ap- plication blank, instruztions, and a re- turn addressed envelope, will be given to any one asking for same. This is not the only means of distri- buting such blanks, instructions and re- turn addressed envelopes to those enti- tled to the bonus, but it is rather to sup- plement other agencies which will main- ly assist in this work, The e other agencies through which avplication blanks, ete, may be obtained are the American Legion, American Red Cross, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the So- ciety of Disabled Veterans. [t 1s to accommodate thgse who may vot bave access to these agencies of distribution that the post office is asked to cooperate. It will not be necessary for post- masters to give any instruetions to ap- plicants. The blanks, ete., sent them by the War Department will atiord a complete explanation.
