i) BILL NO. 27-0110 GOVERNOR TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2008 An Act amending 9 V.I.C., chapter 15, subchapter I relating to the regulation of small loans ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 9 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 15, subchapter I, section 183 is amended in the following instances: § 183 (a) Subsection (a) is amended in the first unnumbered paragraph by striking all of the language after the first sentence and inserting in its stead new language to read as follows: “Licensees may charge, contract for, and receive interest charges at a maximum annual percentage rate computed on the unpaid balance of the amount financed of 26 percent per annum and not less than 19.5 percent per annum”. (b) Subsections (a) and (b) are amended by striking the “$7,500 in every place it appears and inserting in its place “$9,500”. SECTION 2. Title 9 Virgin Island Code, chapter 15, section 204, is amended by striking “District Court” and inserting “Superior Court of the Virgin Islands”. …
