Our team is constantly working to provide the best marine science enrichment opportunities for your child. As safety is our primary concern, we ask that you please read this document alongside your child to ensure that everyone is aware of the code of conduct during the VIMAS Swimming Program. Program Goals: • To provide a safe and optimal learning environment for all program participants. • To create a culture of environmental stewards through hands-on swim training. • To expose Virgin Island’s youth to marine science-based opportunities both locally and abroad. Program Expectations: Student • All students have the responsibility to treat one another, staff and property with respect. • All students should be on-time and present for the entire duration of the program, barring any illness or family emergency. …

Our team is constantly working to provide the best marine science enrichment opportunities for your child. As safety is our primary concern, we ask that you please read this document alongside your child to ensure that everyone is aware of the code of conduct during the VIMAS Swimming Program. Program Goals: • To provide a safe and optimal learning environment for all program participants. • To create a culture of environmental stewards through hands-on swim training. • To expose Virgin Island’s youth to marine science-based opportunities both locally and abroad. Program Expectations: Student • All students have the responsibility to treat one another, staff and property with respect. • All students should be on-time and present for the entire duration of the program, barring any illness or family emergency. ____________________________________ ________________ Signature of student Date Parent • It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to notify program staff if their child will be tardy or absent. ____________________________________ ________________ Signature of parent Date Rules – the following forms of behavior are considered a violation of this document and are unacceptable and could result in the immediate dismissal of student(s): • Using language which is offensive, sexist or racist. • Fighting, bullying or any other forms of aggressive behavior. • Damaging or vandalizing the property of others or the University of the Virgin Islands. Any breach of the Rules or the Code of Conduct will initiate a disciplinary action. The Virgin Islands Marine Advisory Service reserves the right to suspend or dismiss a student’s participation in program activities. Before such a decision is fully made, the student and parent/guardian will meet with program the coordinator to determine the best course of action. Agreement I have read and agree to adhere to the above Rules and Student Code of Conduct of the VIMAS Swimming Program.
