THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner VIPD NEWS RELEASE - 120723-378 For Immediate Media Distribution December 7, 2023 19-year-old Man Succumbed to Gunshot Injury on St. Thomas St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands - On Thursday, December 7, 2023, at approximately 10:35 a.m., a male was dropped off at Schneider Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The male was rushed into surgery, but subsequently succumbed to his injuries. The male’s next of kin identified him as 19-year-old Nashai Francis. Anyone having any information about this crime please contact the Virgin Islands Police Department at (340)774-2211, the Major Crimes Unit at (340) 642-8449, Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1(800)222-8477 or 911. ###
