Hearing – September 19, 2025 Dear Commissioner George, In my capacity as Chair of the Committee on Culture, Youth, Aging, Sports, and Parks (C.Y.A.S.P.), I am pleased to invite you to testify during an upcoming legislative hearing scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This hearing will review Bill No. 36-0099 – Elder Abuse Response Reform, which proposes amendments to Title 34, Chapter 15 of the Virgin Islands Code to strengthen the territory’s capacity to address elder abuse. Your testimony is scheduled during BLOCK II: Elder Abuse Response Reform, and is expected to provide critical insight into the Department’s current services and its role in developing a Multidisciplinary Team under the proposed legislation. We kindly request that your presentation include relevant data, implementation considerations, and any legislative recommendations to support the Department’s responsibilities under the bill.
