Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 2 •HR 48 IH SECTION 1. REMOVAL OF THE CAP ON MEDICAID PAY- 1 MENTS FOR PUERTO RICO, THE VIRGIN IS- 2 LANDS, GUAM, THE NORTHERN MARIANA IS- 3 LANDS, AND AMERICAN SAMOA AND ADJUST- 4 MENT OF THE MEDICAID STATUTORY MATCH- 5 ING RATE FOR THOSE TERRITORIES. 6 (a) REMOVAL OF CAP.— 7 (1) IN GENERAL.—Section 1108 of the Social 8 Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1308) is amended by strik- 9 ing subsections (f) and (g). 10 (2) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—(A) Section 11 1902(j) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 1396a(j)) is amend- 12 ed by striking ‘‘the limitation in section 1108(f),’’. 13 (B) Section 1905(u) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 14 1396d(u)) is amended by striking paragraph (4). 15 (b) ADJUSTMENT OF FEDERAL MEDICAL ASSIST- 16 ANCE PERCENTAGE (FMAP).—Section 1905(b)(2) of 17 such Act (42 U.S.C. 1396d(b)(2)) is amended by striking 18 ‘‘50 per centum’’ and inserting ‘‘for purposes of this title 19 only 77 percent’’. 20 (c) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendements made by 21 this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment 22 of this Act, and shall apply to expenditures made on or 23 after such date. 24 Æ
