Director of the Island for the splendid manner in which we find their work. so splendidly manazed in St. 'Thomas and further extended to the Is- land of St. Creix. We wish to also thank the Uirector of Police, in fact, all of the Federal and Municipal Au- thoriiies for their great courtesy and kindness to us at all times. The Commission’s interest is still with the humblest people of these islands, and w 2 shali not cease to continue our worX in behalf of the man and the wo- man, the boy and girl, who make their ltving by humble and honest toil, and to them we wish to say that, while leaving the Islands, we do not thereby sever sur interest in these veople. Editor of the St. Croix Avis Dear Sir: lam happy to b 2 able to read about Mr. Merwin’s activities in connec- tion with the warer supply ard irrization plant, whicn is the ONE BIG thing, that means pros erity for the isiands. There vas a time, not vo far distant when Mr. Merwin was elassitied amony those white men, who were 1o be packed in corn sacks and thrown overboard. Happily however he managed to survive all this and after waiting lin vain to see anything constructive out of se!fish lead- ership, made two successful trips to Washington for the goud of cur. people,
