Colonial Council Bill No. 49. | Introduction of and Ist Discussion on | Colonial Counecil Bill No. 49, Resolu- tion introduced by iovernment, au- thorizing the sale by auction, for the highest bid in each case, of Lot No. 15 East Street and Lot No. 36 Fish- er Street in the town of Christian- sted. Colonial Couneil Bill Jo. 49. 2nd Council, 2nd Session, 1920—1921. RESOLUTION. Be 1t resolved by the Colonial Council for St. Crowx in session as sembled: That the Governor be and he is nerepy authorized to sell lot No. 15 East Street, and Lot No. 36 Fisher Street, Christiansted, St. Croix, for the highest bid received in each case within a period of thirty days after date of approval of this reso- lution. : The Vice-Chairman remarked: The matter is open for discussion. Government Secretary (7immons) re- ~ marked: M, vice-Chairman. The sale of the properties is recommended by the Municipal Committee. It is nothing in which the Government is particularly interested, except that they are not/ bringing any revenues, and therefore the Municipal Committee has recom- mended that they be sold. 4th Appointed Member {Blackwood) re- marked: Mr. Vice Chairman. The cus- tom lis to sell all Government properties by auetion so as-to give every one a fair, chance to purchase, we have deviated from that rule a couple of times, but those were extraordinary cases. It wa= put to the vote and unanimous- ly carried that the Resolution be adopted at Ist Discussion. No one requesting the word further, the biil was read, put to the vote and un- animously adopted. Item b. Colonial Council Bill No. 50. Introduction of and Ist Discussion on Celonial Council Bill No. 50, Draft of A+ditional Money Bill to the Bud get for the Municipality of St. Croix ter the fiscal year ending June 30, 1921, intreduced by Government, au- thorizing the payment of Fres. 60, 000,00 from funds in.the Municipal Treasury, not otherwise obligated, to te Telephone Fund for the pur- pose of effecting repairs and new in- stallations. The bill reads as follows: 1 Colonial Council BillNo 50. 2nd Council, 2nd Session, 1920—1221 ADDITIONAL MONEY BILL To the Budget for the Municipality of St. Crowx 1920—1921. The Government is authorized to }l)‘ay from funds in the Municipal reasury. not otherwise obligated, the sum of Frs. 6¢0,000.00 to the Telephone Fund for the purpose of effecting necessary repairs and new installations. Proposed by the Government. (overnment Secretary (7immons) re- marked: Mr. Vice Chairman. This Mon- ey Bill is introduced upon the vecommen-* dation of the Municipal Commiitce and Government would appreciate explana- tion by the 4th Appointed Member and Chairman of the Municipal Committee. ~ 4th Avpointed Member (Blockwood) re- marked: Mr. Chairman. The Public Works Officer wrote a leiter to the Mu- nicipal Committee in which he stated that the telephone lines need consider- able repairs and that an appropriation was needed; aceording to the records, on May 20, of this year, the Municipal Com mittee’s decision on this matter was for- warded to Government (The Speaker read copy of the Committee’s decision on this matter to Government) =pd continuing: The Amount is to be aporopriated from money vot obligated. We hold to our' recommendation and it is now up to Gov- ernment to advance the amount.
