Ottawa, Sept, 17th. - Although the grand total for- Canadian trade tfor the five mon-hs of the fiscal year ended on August 21st shows an increase of $20,- 232,983 as compared with the same peri- od in 1919 the value of Caradian mer- chandise exported ' declined by over twenty millions. The grand total for Canadian trade. for the five months peri od of the present year was $1,063,353,170 while in 1919 it was $861,023,335. London, Sept. 17th.—The Australian budgei shows a revenue of over pds. 52, 000,000 a pds. 2,000,000 surplus. The custpms and excise amounted to four miilinns over the estiin.:ies and the :totai excess rovenue was six millions. The total war expenditure was 381,000,000 pds. of wihich 70,000,000 has been paid from the reveaue. The wuar debt is now 335, 000,000 while other debrs are 46,000,000 Nineteen million have been spent on sol- diers repatriation.
