ACING 8248 BILL NO. 33-00 19 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2019 An Act amending title 17, chapter 7, section 6la of the Virgin Islands Code regarding the school year and the amount of instructional hours per school year ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 17 of the Virgin Islands Code is amended in chapter 7, section óla, as follows: (a) Subsection (a) is amended by striking all the language and inserting new Language in its place that reads: “The school year must begin not later than the second week in August and end not later than the last Friday in May and must he divided into two semesters, semester: one which ends not later than December 23 and semester two, which ends not later than the last Friday in May.” (b) Subsection (b) is amended by striking “pursuant to title 24 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 14”. (c) Subsection (c) is amended by strlkLng “under subsection (b)”; and by striking “1080 hours of pupil” and inserting a minimum of”l80 days of student” in its place. (d) By adding subsections (e). …
