BILL NO. 29-0425 TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2012 An Act amending title 19 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17 to transfer from the Department of Health, to the Department of Human Services the authority as “the single state agency” to establish, continue, manage, operate and administer a program of medical care to individuals and families whose income and resources are insufficient to meet the cost of the necessary medical care ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17 is amended in section 278 by striking “Health” and inserting “Human Services” in its place. SECTION 2. Effective October 1, 2012, all functions, powers, duties, and obligations of the Bureau of Health Insurance and Medical Assistance program, previously vested in the Department of Health, are transferred to the Department of Human Services.
