ACTNO, 8685 BILL NO. 34-0253 THIRTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2022 An Act amending title 33, subtitle 2, chapter 81, section 2304 of the Virgin Islands Code to extend the exemption from the payment of real property taxes to certain real property ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 33, subtitle 2, chapter 81, section 2304, paragraph (6) of the Virgin Islands Code is amended by striking “compliance period” and inserting “extended use period and thereafter as long as the occupancy of 100% of the units in the building satisfies the requirements of Section 42 of the United States Internal Revenue Code, and the units meet the Housing Quality Standards of the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority.” Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on December 29, 2022.
