ACTNO. 6809 BILL NO. 26-0155 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2005 To amend titlel, Virgin Islands Code, chapter 11 to designate March as Virgin Islands History Month ---0--- WHEREAS, there exists a need to create a month of the year to be known as “Virgin Islands History Month” to celebrate and commemorate great events in the history of the Virgin Islands and to honor and pay tribute to outstanding Virgin Islanders and persons in Virgin Islands History who have contributed to the general welfare of humankind; and WHEREAS, the people of the Virgin Islands of various origins, backgrounds races, ethnicities, colors, beliefs, and religions have throughout history, as individuals and as groups, greatly contributed to the progress and enrichment of humanity locally, regionally, nationally, internationally and globally to a degree out of proportion to the population and geographic size to the Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, it is most fitting, proper and appropriate that knowledge of these achievements and contributions to humankind be known both to Virgin Island …
