M. Demetrois Gounaris, former premier and 'eader of the opposition, who was the opponent of Premier Venizelo: in the ballocing, was the caadidaie of the ele- ment desiring the returdiol ex-King Con- stantine. M. Venizelos on the other hand, is unalterably opposed so the return of the failen monarch. In case iremier Venizelos is successful, he wili be given a free hand in the selection 0i a new head of the state.
