PUBLIC NOTICE: Temporary Closure of Mars Hill (St. Croix) and Knud Hansen (St. Thomas) Facilities U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (DHS) advises the public that the Mars Hill facility on St. Croix and the Knud Hansen Complex on St. Thomas will close today, Monday, June 1, 2026, effective at 12:00 PM. These temporary closures are necessary due to regional power outages and resulting technical disruptions that have taken departmental systems and internet connectivity offline across both districts. Mars Hill (STX): Will remain closed for the remainder of the day to allow maintenance teams to resolve facility issues. Normal operations are expected to resume tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Knud Hansen (STT): Closed effective at 12:00 PM due to a generator power disruption.
