ACT NO. 8646 BILL NO. 34-0334 THIRTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2022 An Act appropriating funds from the General Fund in Fiscal Year 2022 to the University of the Virgin Islands for the purpose ofpaying retroactive merit increases to employees who separated from the University during the period of January 1, 1992, through December 31, 1998 —-0—- Be it enacted by the Legislature ofthe Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. The sum of$1 ,176,670.49 is appropriated from the General Fund in fiscal year 2022 to the University of the Virgin Islands to pay employees who separated from the University during the period January 1, 1992 through December 31, 1998, and did not receive the three percent (3%) merit increase. SECTION 2. The payment to the 425 affected employees must be paid by December 31, 2022. SECTION 3. The funds appropriated in section 1 remain available until expended.
