ACTNO. 8064 BILL NO. 32-0197 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2018 An Act amending Title 19 Virgin Islands Code adding chapter 68 relating to Animal Shelters’ to provide for a minimum standard of care for sheltered animals and for other purposes ---0)--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19 V.LC. is amended by adding chapter 68 to read as follows: “Chapter 68. Animal Shelters” §2801. Purpose of Chapter. In order to promote and protect the public health, safety and welfare of animals in a shelter environment, this chapter regulates animal shelters, pet shops, pet groomers, and kennels by establishing enforceable, uniform minimum standards of care for the physical, mental, and behavioral needs of animals in anima! shelters, pet shops, pet groomers, and kennels in the Virgin Islands to which all operators of animal shelters, pet shops, pet groomers, and kennels must comply. §2802.
