Act No. 6286 (BILL NO. 23-0028) (Approved August 17, 1999) To amend Title 19, Virgin Islands Code to establish a cancer registry for the territory of the Virgin Islands Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19, Virgin Islands Code is amended by adding a new chapter 47 to read: "CHAPTER 47. CANCER REGISTRY Section 1251. Definitions Section 1252. Establishment of cancer registry Section 1253. Participation in program Section 1254. Confidentiality Section 1255. Disclosure Section 1256. Liability Section 1251. Definitions As used in this chapter: (1) ‘Cancer’ means all malignant neoplasms, regardless of the tissue of origin, including malignant lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and leukemia. (2) ‘Health care facility’ shall have the meaning given in section 221(1) of this title. (3) ‘Health care provider’ shall have the meaning given in Title 27, Section 166(c). (4) ‘Commissioner’ means the Commissioner of the Department of Health or his duly authorized representatives. Section 1252. …
