F L 3 . - 4 ! ; Gfticial Publination IT is with much gratification that I inform the people of the Virgin Islands that The Honorable, ‘lhe Secretary of the Navy, is sending an officer of the Civil Engineer Corps of high rank, to the Virgin Islonds for the purpose of lavestigating and reporting upon the means of providing a water supply for the towns of St. thomas, Christiansted and Frederiksted., It is expected that this officer will reach the Vir- gin Islands the latter part of the prosert month. The Honorable, The Secretary of the Nav., has also informed me that the Uepartment of the Interior has agreed to sead a Qeclamation « Engineer to the virgin isiands to in- vestigate and report upon the possi- bility of water conservation or agricultural purposes, and that this engineer willprobably arrive in the Virgin Islands the latter part of February.
