Specifically, does the system reproduce intelligible voice, tones, or both, and how many of each type are required? Answer: The system reproduces both voice and tone. The current system has alerts for tsunami, hurricane, flash flood, curfew, hazardous material, all clear, and public address that would be required. Is the system activated only in total with no exclusions or must individual islands or areas of islands be capable of isolated or grouped activation? Answer: The system must be capable of being activated from either the St. Thomas control station or the St. Croix control station. The system must have the capability to activate sirens on individual islands, individually or grouped. What radio model(s) and frequencies are in use? Answer: MPT System TM-9355, 158:865 How many current control units do you use? Is there one on each island? Answer: There are control units located on St. Thomas and St. Croix. To integrate the 16 new sirens into the 24 existing siren Federal Signal needs details on how the existing 24 sirens are being activated. Answer: The system can be activated from either the St. Thomas control station or the St. Croix control station. The sirens can be activated individually, grouped, by island or all territorial sirens via the Computer software. The sirens can be activated manually by the Central Station Controller. 6.) Are the 24 existing sirens currently 100% operational? Answer: They are all 100% operational 7.) Can the 24 existing site controls be replaced? Answer: Paragraph Ila of the Scope of Work states “The selected system should be compatible with the current system and a turnkey product.” All other terms and conditions remain the same. A copy of this amendment must be returned with your bid.
