ACT NO, 7593 BILL NO. 30-0204 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act amending title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, subchapter VI relating to Pharmacists’ authority to administer vaccines and appropriate tests —0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION I. Title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, subchapter VI is amended in the following instances: (a) Section 141 is amended- (1) at the beginning of the section by adding a definition that reads: “Appropriate tests” means a test that the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has determined qualifies for a certificate of waiver under the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988, as amended (CLIA), and the federal rules adopted thereunder, and such other tests as approved by federal or territorial law; and (2) in the definition of “pharmacy or drug store” by striking “Secretary” and inserting “of the Virgin Islands’ and after ‘retail’ by inserting “and immunizations recommended and administered and appropriate tests ordered, conducted and …
