ACTNO. 6204 BILL NO. 26-0161 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2005 To honor and commend Isidor Paiewonsky posthumously for his contribution to the beautification and preservation of the environment of the Virgin Islands and to designate the first week of December each year “Isidor Paiewonsky Plant A Tree Week.” ---0--- WHEREAS, in addition to having been an outstanding businessman, historian and renaissance individual, Isidor Paiewonsky was responsible for transforming the dilapidated alley-ways in downtown Charlotte Amalie into the beautiful show cases that they currently are; and WHEREAS, during a period spanning several decades, Mr. Paiewonsky took the lead in city planning, restoration of historic buildings, gardening and landscaping; and WHEREAS, this great Virgin Islander won national and international acclaim for the beautification programs instituted on St. …
