ITNU 8268 BILL NO. 33-0200 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2019 An Act amending title 20, part II, chapter 43, section 493 of the Virgin Islands Code by increasing the punishment for driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquors or controlled substances Be it enacted by the Legislature oft/ic Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 20, part II, chapter 43, section 493 of the Virgin Islands Code is amended in the following instances: (a) In subsection (b). paragraph (I): (1) By striking “three hundred dollars” and inserting “$500” in its place; and (2) By striking “five hundred dollars” and inserting “$700” in its place. (b) In subsection (b), paragraph (2): (I) By striking “48” and inserting “72” in its place: (2) By striking “$2,000” and inserting “$4,000” in its place; (3) By striking “$600” and inserting “$800” in its place; and (4) By striking “ten days” and inserting “14 days” in its place. (c) By redesignating paragraph (2) as paragraph (3). …
