Contractor Scope & Bid Sheet For Restoration of the Fort Christian Historical Museum Facility Courtyard Prepared by DPW/CIP Office The following Scope of Work includes but not limited to removal and replacement of bricks in the court yard of Fort Christian Historical Museum Facility, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. THE QUANTITIES NOTED BELOW ARE NOT NECESSARILY EXACT, AND THE ITEMS NOTED DO NOT NECESSARILY MAKE UP ALL THE WORK REQUIRED, OR NOTED IN THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR THE COMPLETE RENOVATION EFFORTS IN THE FORT CHRISTIAN HISTORICAL MUSEUM FACILITY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING A TOTAL LUMP SUM COST FOR THE COMPLETE REPAIRS OF MATERIAL AND LABOR FOR THE PROJECT. 3. ITIS THE CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ESTABLISH EXACT QUANTITIES BASED ON DOCUMENTS ISSUED AND SITE VISITS CARRIED OUT. 06/17/2016 4. PRICES SUBMITTED FOR WORK TO BE DONE SHALL INCLUDE THE CONTRACTOR’S OVERHEAD TAXES AND PROFIT ALONG WITH ALL COSTS FOR MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND MANPOWER NECESSARY TO FACILITATE PROPER, SAFE, AND TIMELY COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. 5. UNIT PRICES SUBMITTED ON THE ITEMIZED BID SHEET SHALL BE UTILIZED FOR ANY CREDITS OR DEBITS TO THE PROJECT; WHICH, IF NECESSARY, SHALL BE ADDRESSED AS A CHANGE ORDER TO THE PROJECT. 6. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY UNDERGROUND UTILITY LINES DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION, Item No. Unit Total Cost Item Description Cost (Material & Labor) 01. Remove approximately 6,750 square feet of existing brick laid on edge and concrete paved areas. Tryborg Tower... Install approximately 708 square feet of local field stone to represent the footprint of the historic Tryborg Tower. The oval shape and wall width of the Tower will be represented in stone and the middle void | 708 sq. ft. : ae 5 of the tower laid with yellow bricks in a_ particular designated area of the court yard. Both materials shall be sourced from the existing stone stock piles at the Fort. Stone pattern shall be even with the connecting brick pattern that surrounds the Tryborg Tower stone pattern. See attached drawing for approximate location of stone placement. Previous archaeological radar scanning of the Fort Christian courtyard determined that the foundation walls of Tryborg Tower are still in place below the courtyard walking surface. All original slopes to drainage points in court yard shall be maintained. Existing graves stones in court yard shall not be moved or altered. Re-laid bricks shall be installed at an even elevation to match existing beveled edge of graves stones. Vendor shall work closely with DPNR/VISHPO and DPW staff representing the project. If existing bricks have to be installed in combination with new bricks, existing brick amounts shall be established prior to commencement of the projects brick installation. The distribution of new bricks in the courtyard shall be done in an equal proportion to historic bricks available. As part of the Fort Christian courtyard restoration project, the former historic Tryborg Tower footprint area will be highlighted in the paving area of the courtyard. The Tower's footprint area will be noted with the use of local fieldstones which will be sourced from the onsite stone piles at the Fort Christian east side storage yard. The Tryborg Tower footprint is oval in shape and has overall dimensions of 26 feet in width and 30 feet in length. The Tower's wall thickness measures approximately 6 feet in width and approximately 118 feet in circumference. The pattern area for the stone footprint is approximately 708 sq. ft. with a voided middle area of 352 sq. ft. The middle area of the tower footprint will receive the same yellow bricks been used for the rest of the courtyard restoration. The Vendor shall verify all measurements and confirm to all applicable Building Codes as required. Errors, omissions, and/or all discrepancies shall be reported immediately upon discovery to DPWI/CIP Office.
