University of the Virgin Islands Resolution of the Board of Trustees Whereas, after having served for over 20 years as a member of and an officer on the Board of the Foundation for the University of the Virgin Islands, Mr. Edward E. Thomas was appointed and confirmed to the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands in November 2009 and served continuously on the Board of Trustees until February 2015, and; Whereas, during his distinguished service on the Board of Trustees, Mr. Thomas served as the Chair of the Audit Committee and of the Finance and Budget Committee, and; Whereas, by virtue of his position as the chair of the Audit Committee and of the Finance and Budget Committee, he served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, and; Whereas, after his service on the Board of Trustees. University of the Virgin Islands Resolution of the Board of Trustees Whereas, after having served for over 20 years as a member of and an officer on the Board of the Foundation for the University of the Virgin Islands, Mr. Edward E. Thomas was appointed and confirmed to the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands in November 2009 and served continuously on the Board of Trustees until February 2015, and; Whereas, during his distinguished service on the Board of Trustees, Mr. Thomas served as the Chair of the Audit Committee and of the Finance and Budget Committee, and; Whereas, by virtue of his position as the chair of the Audit Committee and of the Finance and Budget Committee, he served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, and; Whereas, after his service on the Board of Trustees. Mr. Thomas was nominated and confirmed as a member of the Governing Board of the University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park and he is currently serving as the chair of that board, and; Whereas, Mr. Thomas provided those committees and boards with the benefit of his knowledge and experience gained during his service in the private sector and public sector in the Virgin Islands and his knowledge of financial management, and; Whereas, it is fitting that in recognition of and gratitude for his service as a member of the Board of Trustees and on the Board of the Foundation for the University of the Virgin Islands, Mr. Edward E. Thomas be granted the status of Trustee Emeritus. NOW, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that in recognition of his outstanding service to the Board of Trustees and its affiliated institutions, Mr. Edward E. Thomas is hereby granted the status of Trustee Emeritus with all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities pertaining thereto. CERTIFICATION The undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is true and exact copy of the resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at a meeting on Saturday, March 2, 2019, as recorded in the minutes of said meeting. ___________________________________________ _________________________________ Henry C.
