Capehart Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. (a) The sum of $300,000.00 is appropriated in the fiscal year ending 2 September 30, 2026, from the Senior Citizens’ Center Revolving Fund, to the Virgin Islands 3 Department of Human Services, to be equally distributed to the following senior citizens’ 4 community centers for general upkeep: Aldershille Senior Center; Richmond Senior Center; 5 Project Strive Center; Anna’s Retreat Senior Center; Adrian Senior Center; and St. Ursula’s 6 Senior Center. 7 (b) The sum of $500,000.00 is appropriated in the fiscal year ending September 30, 8 2026, from the Senior Citizens’ Center Revolving Fund, to the Virgin Islands Department of 9 Human Services, to be equally distributed to the following senior citizens’ community centers 10 for general upkeep: Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged; Queen Louise Home for the Aged; and 11 Lucinda A. Millin Senior Citizens’ Homes. 12 (c) The funds appropriated in subsections (a) and (b) remain available until expended. 13 2 BILL SUMMARY 1 This bill appropriates the sum of $300,000.00, from the Senior Citizens’ Center 2 Revolving Fund to the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services, for the general upkeep 3 of Aldershille Senior Center, Richmond Senior Center, Project Strive Center, Anna’s Retreat 4 Senior Center, Adrian Senior Center, and St. Ursula’s Senior Center. This bill also appropriates 5 the sum of $500,000.00, from the Senior Citizens’ Center Fund to the Virgin Islands 6 Department of Human Services, for the general upkeep of Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged, 7 Queen Louise Home for the Aged, and Lucinda A. Millin Senior Citizens’ Homes. 8 BR24-1328/October 1, 2024/GC 9
