June 23, 2026 Troy de Chabert-Schuster Executive Director AARP Virgin Islands St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands Re: Committee Hearing Invitation — Block I: “Aging with Dignity: Oversight of Nursing Homes, CMS Certification Readiness, and Senior Financial Protections in the Virgin Islands” Dear Mr. de Chabert-Schuster, As Chair of the Committee on Culture, Youth, Aging, Sports, and Parks, I respectfully invite you to testify during Block I (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM) of the Committee hearing scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall on St. Thomas. This oversight hearing will examine nursing homes, long-term care facilities, CMS certification readiness, and protections for seniors throughout the Territory. The Committee respectfully requests testimony regarding the challenges facing seniors in the Virgin Islands and recommendations to strengthen elder care services and quality of life for the aging community. …
