ACTNO. 8729 BILL NO. 35-0106 THIRTY-FIFTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2023 An Act appropriating $700,000 from the Genera] Fund of the Virgin Islands to the Department of Health for the Caribbean Kidney Center for the purpose of hiring dialysis nurses and other staff ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature ofthe Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. (a) The sum of $700,000 is appropriated in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023, from the General Fund of the Virgin Islands to the Department of Health for the Caribbean Kidney Center. (b) The Caribbean Kidney Center is subject to the reporting requirements of 2 V.I.C. § 29. The funds appropriated in subsection (a) may not be disbursed prior to the submission of invoices by the Caribbean Kidney Center to the Department of Health for approval by the Office of Management and Budget. (c) Tf the Caribbean Kidney Center is sold, the monies appropriated in subsection (a) must be deducted from the proceeds of the sale and returned to the Government of the Virgin Islands. …
