U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS Vv GOVERNMENT HOUSE For Immediate Release: September 21, 2016 Steven van Beverhoudt reappointed as IG ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - Governor Kenneth E. Mapp has nominated Steven G. van Beverhoudt to serve another seven year term as the territory’s Inspector General. If confirmed by the 31st Legislature, it will be van Beverhoudt’s fifth term as the head of the Office of the Virgin Islands Inspector General. In his letter of this date to Senate President Neville James, the Governor requests the Legislature’s favorable consideration of the re- appointment request. The Office of the Virgin Islands Inspector General is authorized by law to investigate fraud, waste, and abuse in all branches of the Virgin Islands Government. Mr. van Beverhoudt has served as Inspector General since his initial appointment in 1989 during the administration of Governor Alexander Farrelly. Government House | No. …
