ESTABLISHMENT OF ADVISORY COMMITTEES FOR 1 PUERTO RICO, THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE 2 UNITED STATES, GUAM, THE COMMON- 3 WEALTH OF THE NORTHERN MARIANA IS- 4 LANDS, AND AMERICAN SAMOA. 5 (a) ESTABLISHMENT.—The 2d sentence of section 6 3(d) of the Civil Rights Commission Act of 1983 (42 7 U.S.C. 1975a(d)) is amended by striking ‘‘and the District 8 of Columbia’’ and all that follows before the period at the 9 end, and inserting ‘‘, the District of Columbia, Puerto 10 Rico, the Virgin Islands of the United States, Guam, the 11 Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and 12 American Samoa composed of persons domiciled in that 13 State, District, or territory’’. 14 (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENT.—Section 3(f) of the 15 Civil Rights Commission Act of 1983 (42 U.S.C. 16 1975a(f)) is amended by— 17 (1) striking ‘‘or’’ after ‘‘Government’’ and in- 18 serting a comma; and 19 (2) inserting ‘‘Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands 20 of the United States, Guam, the Commonwealth of 21 the Northern Mariana Islands, or American 22 Samoa,’’ after ‘‘States,’’. 23 (c) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by 24 this section shall take effect on the 1st day of the 1st fiscal 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 06:18 Aug 14, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H4068.IH H4068 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS 3 •HR 4068 IH year that begins after the date of the enactment of this 1 Act. 2 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 06:18 Aug 14, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H4068.IH H4068 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
