Item 9 [Flection aceording to title V, Chap- ter 12, Section 4, of ~the Code of Laws for St. Croix of a Jury Com- ‘missioner, , 16 voting tickets were handed in, 3rd Memher for Christiansted Town [Alexander] received 4 votes, 2nd Mem- ber for Christiansted Town [Canegata] recetved 3 votes, sth Appointed Member [Mclntosh], 4th Member for Frederik- sted Country District [Andersen] and Ist Member for Christiansted Couutry Dis- trict |Jessen] received 2 votes respec- tively, and Ist Member for Frederiksted Town (Jacks~n), 2nd Member for Chris- tiansted Coun:ry District (Berg) and 3vd Member for said District [Robt. W. Skeceh] received one vote respectively. As none had absolute majority vote a new vote had to be taken. 16 voting tickets were handed in. Malta, June 10th.—=7The official an- pouncement regarding the relief of the seventh destreyer Flotil!a, at present in the Mediterranean, by the third Flotilla of the \tlantie fleet, which comprises the latest built Britisii destroyers, is inter- preted here as the first step towards puttinz into effect the proposed redhstri- bution of the fleets, whereby the Medi terranon, let wiil azein become Great Britain’s ma o fl2et in eHrmimission. It is believed hére that the next, step will be the sending out of battleships of the Roy- al Sovereigan ciass to reinforce the prese ent battle’squadron, but this is not likely to take placa before October. Other ships mentioned as destined for the Med- iterranean from the Atiantic-fleet, be- sides the second light cruiser sguadron, are the newly built Eagle which’ is the largest aircraft carrier, atso the Argus. Little doubt is entertdained here that the destroyer Strengih in the middle sea’is likewjse to be considerably increased.
