RESERVATION OF FUNDS FOR AMERICAN 1 SAMOA, THE NORTHERN MARIANAS ISLANDS, 2 GUAM, AND THE VIRGIN ISLANDS. 3 ‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.—For fiscal year 2009 and each 4 fiscal year thereafter, the Administrator shall reserve, be- 5 fore allotments to the States under section 604(a), 0.5 6 percent of the funds made available to carry out title VI. 7 ‘‘(b) USE OF FUNDS.—Funds reserved under this 8 section shall be available only for grants for projects and 9 activities eligible for assistance under section 603(c) to 10 serve American Samoa, the Northern Marianas Islands, 11 Guam, and the Virgin Islands. 12 ‘‘(c) LIMITATION.—In a fiscal year in which a res- 13 ervation is made under this section, American Samoa, the 14 Northern Marianas Islands, Guam, and the Virgin Islands 15 shall not be eligible to receive funds allotted under section 16 604(a).’’. 17 Æ VerDate Nov 24 2008 04:22 Apr 07, 2009 Jkt 079200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H1889.IH H1889 rfrederick on PROD1PC67 with BILLS
