February 18, 1929. Hon. Don B. CoLtoN, Chairman Committee on the Public Lands, House of Representatives. My Dear Mr. Corton: I have your request of February 18, 1929, for report on H. R. 17062. This bill provides for the conveyance, by the Secretary of the Interior, of Deer and Virgin Islands in Wheeler Lake, Oconto County, Wis., to the county of Oconto, State of Wisconsin, for public-park purposes. Said islands were surveyed during July, 1927, and the plat thereof was accepted by the Commissioner of the General Land Office on July 15, 1928, but to date has not been officially filed. The islands are designated as lots 8 and 9, sec. 22, T. 33 N., R. 16 E., fourth principal meridian, Wisconsin, on the plat of survey. According to the field notes submitted by the engineer who executed the survey the islands rise abruptly from the lake and average 20 feet above mean lake level. I am not aware of any objection to the enactment of the bill into a law Very truly yours, Roy O. Wags. O sana] GUT AMO THATEADGY SRE oe Jeger 5 ina inciyerien TE pi
