The work of a trained doe is simply excellent and astounding and will surely please everybody. This isa first rate comedy occurring on a farm and winding up with a chase so mensely funny that it is sure to be followed by a roar of laughter. This would indicate a very rapid rise of 30 or 40 feet of water in the reserveir within a period of a few hours. Not only had the drought threatened the water supply of San Juan, caused great damage L 0 all crops but had it continued it was only a question of days until the city was threatened with a suspension of its electric service for both lighting and street cars. While the rains of Sunday replenished the water supply for San Juan it was not until yesterday morning that the steam plant of the Porto Rico Railwav Light & Power Co. in Santurce could be shut dowu and the water power plant at Comerio used to turnish all of the current needed tor the company’s systeni. Conditions that the drought had brought about have resulted in a scarcity of fuel oil which was alarming. While the army transport Northern Pacific was blocking the mouth of the harbor two weeks ago, a tank ship with fuel oil for the West Lndia Qil Co., to be discharged here, arrived off the entrance to the port and when it was found that the port was closed the tank ship proceeded to Ponce to discharge her cargo. As a result of the diversion of this fuel to r‘once there was a shortage of fuel here which to an extent was made up this week wiien the molasses boat Pedrito brought 60,000 gallons of fuel oil from Ponce for use by the power company here.— Porto Rico Progress, May 28th. ‘g‘,?
