ACT NO. 6725 BILL NO. 25-0268 TWENTY-FIFTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS | OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2004 To identify and proclaim the Caribbean Chorale as “the official ‘Ambassadors’ of Chorale Music of the Virgin Islands ---0--- WHEREAS, the Caribbean Chorale was organized in January, 1967, with 66 members, for the purpose of continuing the tradition of choral singing on the Island of St. Thomas; and WHEREAS, Mark A. Williams was the first Director of the Caribbean Chorale; and WHEREAS, Agatha Canfield was the first accompanist of the Caribbean Chorale and was one of the persons instrumental in organizing the group; and WHEREAS, the first public appearance by the Caribbean Chorale was March, 1967, at the celebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the transfer of the Danish West Indies from the Kingdom of Denmark to the United States of America; and WHEREAS, the community looks forward to the Caribbean Chorale’s two major concerts every year during the Christmas season and in the spring; and WHEREAS, the Chorale has appeared at many public functions and in concert thr …
