THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner VIPD NEWS RELEASE - 120723-376 For Immediate Media Distribution December 7, 2023 VIPD Seeks Assistance in the Shooting Incident that Injured a 52-year-old Man in Oswald Harris Court St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands - The Virgin Islands Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is seeking the public's assistance in gathering information related to the shooting of a 52-year-old male victim. Authorities were alerted of the shooting at approximately 1:22 p.m. on December 6, 2023, with an initial 911 call, reporting that a male was shot inside of his residence, located at Oswald Harris Court, Building 10. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. The VIPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Investigation Bureau at (340)774-2211 extensions 5553, 5554, 5555, or 5556. Calls can also be made to 911, Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1(800) 222-8477 (TIPS), the Chief's Office at (340)715-5546 or the Commissioner's Office at (340)715-5506. ###
