ACTING. 6817 BILL NO. 26-0152 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2005 To amend title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 25, subchapter V to establish a minimum salary for government employees ---0--- SECTION 1. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 25, subchapter V, is amended to add a section 555b to read: “§555b Minimum salary for government employees Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this subchapter, is minimum salary of full-time employees of the Government of the Virgin Islands $20,000 per annum. No full time employee of the Government of the Virgin Islands may be paid less than $20,000 per annum”. SECTION 2. Section 44 of Act No. 6427, relating to the minimum salary for government employees, is repealed. SECTION 3. No later than January 1, 2007, the salaries of all full-time employees of the Government of the Virgin Islands earning under $20,000 must be raised to at least the minimum salary provided in 3 V.I.C. §555b.
